NUMS Announces Schedule for MDCAT 2024

The National University of Medical Sciences NUMS has released the registration timeline for the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test MDCAT 2024. Test Locations and Fee Details

The MDCAT 2024 will be administered both within Pakistan and at international centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia KSA. Specific test times for international centers will be noted on the admit cards. Candidates can select their preferred city for taking the test.

NUMS will conduct the medical entrance test for MBBS/BDS programs in affiliated public and private sector medical and dental colleges on September 1, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed their intermediate/HSSC Pre-Medical Group or an equivalent examination e.g., A-Level, 12th Grade. Those awaiting results are also eligible to apply. However, appearing in the NUMS MDCAT does not guarantee admission.

Exam Syllabus and Pattern

The syllabus for the NUMS MDCAT 2024 is available on the NUMS website. Candidates should prepare according to this syllabus using their textbooks. The MDCAT comprises two parts:

Part A: This section accounts for 95% of the test and includes 150 MCQs to be completed in 150 minutes. The breakdown is:

Biology: 35%
Chemistry: 25%
Physics: 25%
English: 10%

Part B: This section is a psychological test consisting of 100 MCQs to be completed in 30 minutes.
The total duration of the test is 150 minutes, with a total score of 200 marks. There will be no negative marking. Following the main test, candidates will take a mandatory 30-minute aptitude test, which will not influence the merit order.
