New Grading Framework and Pass Marks for 9th and 11th Grade Students
A momentous announcement has been made, particularly impacting students preparing for the 9th and 11th grade board examinations in 2024. The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen IBCC is poised to roll out a fresh grading formula and assessment system for all education boards in Pakistan, marking the initial phase of a major decision by the IBCC. This novel system will not only disclose students total marks but also their grades and CGPA on their Detailed Marks Certificates DMCs. Furthermore, the minimum passing marks for these exams will be raised from the upcoming academic year, signifying a significant transformation in the assessment of student performance across all education boards in Pakistan. Inauguration of the New Grading System in 2024 Phase-1
The new grading system is set to take effect commencing with the 2024 board exams for 9th and 11th grade students. Under this innovative grading scheme, all educational boards in Pakistan will assign grades and CGPA alongside the marks obtained by 9th and 11th-grade students on their result cards, provided they pass all exams. For instance, if a student achieves between 95% and 100% marks, they will receive a grade of A++ and a CGPA of 5.0.
