New Passing Marks for HSSC Students for Exams 2025
Attention BISE Karachi students! There’s a significant update regarding intermediate exams that will affect the next academic year. The Inter Boards Coordination Commission IBCC has announced that the passing marks for intermediate part 1 and part 2 students will be increased from 33 to 40 marks starting from the academic year 2025. This important decision is part of a broader reform aimed at enhancing educational standards across the province of Sindh.
IBCC Announces Educational Reforms
In a recent press conference, IBCC Executive Director Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah detailed the rationale behind this increase in passing marks. The decision came after a sub-committee meeting at the Karachi Secondary Education Board, where various proposals were reviewed. The meeting concluded with the decision that all educational boards in Sindh, including BISE Karachi, must adopt this new passing marks criterion. This reform is designed to improve the overall quality of education and ensure that students meet higher academic standards.
Grace Marks Will Also Be Introduced
Alongside the increase in passing marks, Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah announced that grace marks will also be introduced as part of the educational reform plan. This initiative aims to provide additional support to students and assist them in achieving better results. Additionally, the exam format will transition from an open-choice to a close-choice format, allowing students to have 100 percent options in exams. This change is expected to make the assessment process more standardized and fair, aligning with the new passing marks criteria.
In summary, the increase in passing marks and the introduction of grace marks signify a pivotal shift in the educational landscape for intermediate students in Karachi and Sindh. These changes are intended to elevate educational standards and provide a more equitable examination process for all students.
