NCEAC Accredits Barious BS Programs HEC Admission 2024
The Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan, through the National Computing Education Accreditation Council NCEAC, notifies all Higher Education Institutions HEIs, parents, and students regarding the accreditation of computing degree programs. NCEAC, established by HEC on February 16, 2005, is responsible for accrediting computing degree programs nationwide.
Currently, NCEAC accredits various BS degree programs, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, and more. Accreditation is mandatory for all relevant academic programs offered by both public and private sector institutions, as per NCEACs bylaws issued by HEC.
A total of 423 computing programs have been accredited across well-known HEIs/DAIs in all provinces and territories. HEIs/DAIs offering 4-year computing degree programs are strongly advised to get their programs accredited with NCEAC by August 31, 2024. Additionally, NCEAC prohibits weekend classes for undergraduate computing degree programs.
Its crucial for stakeholders to note that after the cut-off date August 31, 2024, HEC will not attest degrees obtained from non-accredited batches. Therefore, all interested parties are advised to check the NCEAC website before enrolling in any computing degree program in the country.
For further information, the list of NCEAC accredited computing degree programs and institutions is available on the NCEAC website. Non-compliance with NCEAC decisions may result in institutions being stopped from admitting more students. Stay informed and ensure accreditation for quality education.
