M.Phil Programs Admissions 2025 open in GCU

Government College University Lahore GCU, a premier institution known for its academic distinction and research excellence, invites admissions for its MS and MPhil programs for Fall 2025 intake. The GCU-GAT/I is a mandatory requirement for all applicants and serves as the first step toward joining one of Pakistans most historic centers of higher learning.

 Important Dates

Online Registration Starts: 12th May 2025

Last Date to Apply: 23rd May 2025

GCU-GAT/I Test Dates: 31st May & 1st June 2025

Result Announcement: 10th June 2025

 Registration Process for GCU-GAT/I

A separate form must be submitted for each subject; each form requires a separate processing fee.

Challan & Fee Payment:

Generate the challan form after completing the online application.

Deposit the Rs. 1,500/- processing fee at any UBL branch across Pakistan.

Note: Mobile/online banking UBL App or Omni payments are not accepted.

No Hard Copy Submission:

Do not send any printed copy of the registration form to GCU Lahore.

Roll Number Slips & Seating Plan:

These will be uploaded on the official portal and university website prior to the test date.

No SMS or email notifications will be issued separately.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to MS/MPhil programs:

Applicants must have completed 16 years of education MA/MSc, BA/BSc Hons, or equivalent from an HEC-recognized institution.

Minimum required:

CGPA of 2.50/4.00 semester system, or

50% marks annual system

GCU-GAT/I Qualification:

A minimum score of 50% is required in the GAT to be eligible for admission.

Students awaiting final semester results BS 8th semester can apply provisionally but must submit final results before classes begin.

The GCU-GAT/I 2025 result is valid only for the 2025 admission cycle.

GCU-GAT is also mandatory for candidates applying under the disability quota.

 Special Requirement for MPhil in Freshwater Biology, Fisheries & Aquaculture:
Candidates must hold a BS/BSc Hons in Zoology, Freshwater Biology, Fisheries & Aquaculture, or Applied Fisheries with a CGPA of 2.50 or 50% marks.
