Matric paper leaks remain unchecked in Sindh

Examination papers for various subjects, including Islamiyat, physics, economics, and biology, have been leaked in several cities throughout Sindh. In Larkana, the physics paper for 10th grade was reportedly shared on WhatsApp just before the exam began on Friday. Similar leaks have been reported in Khairpur, Nawabshah, and Kandiaro, raising concerns about the integrity of the examination process. The district administration has faced severe criticism for its failure to prevent or address these leaks. In Khairpur, the Islamiyat paper was also leaked through a WhatsApp group before the exam started. Meanwhile, in Kandiaro, the biology paper for the 10th grade was compromised during the BISE SBAs annual examinations.
In Naushero Feroze, students were observed openly using their phones during exams, accessing answers via WhatsApp. Additionally, in Nawabshah, three different papers—Biology, Computer Science, and Economics—were leaked and circulated through WhatsApp groups.
Reports suggest the involvement of a cheating syndicate, dubbed the bootie mafia, which allegedly charged students Rs1,000 each to access the leaked papers. Students were seen without fear, using their mobile phones during exams, undermining the credibility of the examination system.
Despite the imposition of Section 144, which prohibits public gatherings, many unauthorized individuals were spotted outside exam centers. The raiding teams, responsible for monitoring and controlling cheating, were reported to be inactive and remained in their offices, allowing the situation to escalate unchecked.
