LHC 9th Class Exams Age Restriction Illegal

Lahore, the bench of Lahore High Court declared the age restriction for the 9th class exams illegal according to which the students of below 12 years were not allowed to appear in the matric class part 1 exams.
Large number of aspirants filed their petition in the Lahore High court to review the case regarding age restriction of below the 12 yeas students cannot appear in the 9th class exams. They declared that it was the fundamental right of every student to get education under article 25A of the constitution.
The LHC bench was comprised of the Justice Shamas Mehmood Mirza and Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir maintained the policy of age restriction of 12 years, which is mentioned in rule 1A of calendar under BISE Act 1975 as illegal. The counsel of the aspirants stated that equal education is basic right under article 25 of constitution and the educational boards made the rules that aspirants below age of 12 years were not declared eligible to get admission in the 9th class. He further added that if the restriction is imposed on the students below 12 years not to get admission and get education, then it will be proved that it is violation of basic rights of the students to get education. The educational boards were not permitted to impose age restriction.
He submitted that in the O and A level exams, there was no policy of age restriction and this age restriction was unfair and defilement of the constitution as no one can be deprived of the education, which is their basic right.
