Two New University Campuses to Open in Karachi Soon
Dr. Siddiqui revealed that Karachi will soon be home to two new universities focusing on arts and skills. The National Textile University campus is set to be inaugurated on December 14, while the National Skills University campus will also officially open later in December. These universities will provide enhanced opportunities for academic growth and skill development in the region.
New Federal University Campus Planned for Mirpurkhas by March 2025
In addition to these two new institutions in Karachi, the Education Minister shared plans to establish a federal university campus in Mirpurkhas by March 2025. This campus is expected to provide educational opportunities to students from Sanghar, Umerkot, and Tharparkar. However, Dr. Siddiqui noted challenges related to land acquisition, mentioning that several plots have remained unused for many years. Talks with federal officials are ongoing to resolve these issues and move the project forward.
Vision to Establish 20 Universities Across Sindh Province
Dr. Siddiqui emphasized the government’s commitment to building 20 new universities across the Sindh province. This initiative reflects the administration’s focus on making quality education more accessible and promoting higher learning opportunities for students throughout the region.
