Morning and Evening Shifts Detailed
Examinations are divided into two shifts: the morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM includes papers for Pre-Medical and related groups, while the evening session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM features General Science exams. On the first day, 11th-grade students are appearing for the Mathematics exam. More than 92,000 students are expected in the morning and around 34,500 in the evening.
Examination Centers and High-Risk Locations
A total of 182 exam centers have been established—122 for the morning shift and 60 for the evening. Out of these, 36 centers have been flagged as high-risk or highly sensitive. BIEK Chairman Ghulam Hussain Sohoo confirmed that thorough preparations are in place to uphold fairness and order throughout the exam period, with added focus on monitoring and safety at vulnerable centers.
Collaborative Efforts to Ensure Order
To maintain a secure and controlled environment, BIEK has coordinated with key government agencies including the Sindh Police, Karachi Commissioner’s office, Traffic Police, and K-Electric. Additionally, complaint cells have been activated in the offices of each district deputy commissioner, staffed with board officials. Given the rising temperatures, BIEK has requested the support of Rescue 1122, and Section 144 has been enforced near exam centers to ban unauthorized persons and shut down nearby photocopying shops.
Anti-Cheating Steps and Result Declaration
Security protocols for transporting question papers have been tightened, with each paper coded to its respective center, helping quickly trace any potential leaks. Confiscation of mobile phones and electronic gadgets is mandated at exam venues. To reinforce academic integrity, the board has deployed 16 specialized super vigilance teams. The examinations will conclude by Thursday, May 29, and results are expected to be released within two months of the final paper.
