Private schools in Islamabad will reopen as scheduled on Monday, January 6, 2025, despite the ongoing cold spell. The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority PEIRA has assured that the winter break will not be extended, following speculation from parents about a possible delay in reopening. Federal Directorate of Education Schools to Open Later
In contrast, schools under the Federal Directorate of Education FDE will resume classes later in the week, with a new reopening date of January 9, 2025.
Extended Winter Holidays for Schools in AJK
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK, however, the winter vacation has been extended due to severe cold weather conditions. The AJK Education Department announced that schools both public and private will now reopen on February 6, 2025, instead of the originally scheduled date of February 2.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Delays School Reopening
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also adjusted its school reopening schedule, with classes now set to begin on January 7, 2025, a revision from the earlier reopening date of January 1.
Punjab Schools and Colleges to Reopen Soon
In Punjab, public and private schools will remain closed until January 10, with classes resuming on January 13. However, colleges in Punjab will reopen earlier, on January 6, 2025, after their winter break, which began on December 24, 2024.
