In a move to put an end to the fierce competition among students vying for the highest marks, the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen IBCC is set to unveil a groundbreaking grade system for matric and inter exams nationwide. The students and teachers can note IBCC Revolutionizes Grading System for SSC & HSSC Exams.

A New Dawn in Assessment: IBCCs 10-Point Grading System

Scheduled for implementation in 2024, the IBCCs revamped grading system will debut with the announcement of results for 9th and 11th-grade annual exams. Unlike the previous 7-point system, this new approach boasts a 10-point scale, ranging from A++ to U.

Shifting the Focus: Aiming to Enhance Student Evaluation

The IBCC emphasizes that the motive behind the new grading system is to eliminate the competition mentality among students, parents, and institutions, promoting a focus on quality education. The 10-point grading scheme aims to refine the assessment and evaluation processes for students.

Chairmans Vision: Embracing Progressive Change

Addressing a workshop dedicated to the implementation of the new grading scheme, IBCC Chairman Ghulam Ali Mallah expressed the committees commitment to liberating students from the pressure to secure maximum marks, ultimately providing a superior educational experience. He highlighted the overwhelming response from Sindh Examination Boards, showcasing their dedication to progressive changes.

A Universal Transition: BSEK Chairmans Perspective

Speaking on the occasion, Board of Secondary Education Karachi BSEK Chairman Sharaf Ali Shah endorsed the new grading system, asserting its global acceptance. He stated that the system would bring convenience for both students and teachers, adapting to the evolving landscape of education.

Unchanged Foundations: Qualifications Remain Unaffected

Importantly, this shift in the grading policy does not impact qualifications, as the scheme of studies remains unchanged. The IBCC ensures that the modification aims solely at fostering a healthier educational environment.
