IBA Sukkur Four-Option MCQs Get PMDC Approval

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC has approved a request by IBA Sukkur to incorporate multiple-choice questions MCQs with four answer options into the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT, aligning with standardized testing methods.
Province-Wide Standardized Test Paper
According to a response from the PMDC, a standardized test paper for the entire province of Sindh has been agreed upon, with the added suggestion of using different paper codes to ensure fairness and consistency across the region. This approach mirrors the testing formats used in other parts of the country.
Introduction of Four-Option Answer Choices
In a move that brings the test in line with other provinces, the PMDC has approved the use of four-answer choices per MCQ. This structure is compatible with the Optical Mark Recognition OMR answer sheets, which facilitate easier grading and ensure accuracy in test results.
Follow-Up Recommendations for IBA Sukkur
The PMDC also advised IBA Sukkur to follow the MDCAT curriculum and refer to the notification issued on August 4, 2024. This guidance will assist in aligning the test format with national standards and ensure a smooth implementation of the new test design.
