Hungary Helps Scholarships to Young Christians 2023

The government of Hungary has initiated the academic scholarship program for the young Christians under the project of Scholarship for Christian Young People’ SCYP. The Hungary Helps scholarships program was initiated in 2017 and they provide the scholarships to young Christians every year to get the opportunity of higher education in Hungarian universities. The Hungary Helps offers this scholarships at the graduate, postgraduate and one tier postgraduate and PhD programs. The scholarships for the academic year 2022/23 are announced for the citizens of Lebanon, Armenia, Pakistan, Palestine, Israel, Iraq, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya, Syria and Kenya. Hungary SCYP scholarship covers the expenses of tuition free education, monthly stipends to graduate, postgraduate and one-tier postgraduate of HUF 166,600 EUR 450 to the living expenses in Hungary for 12 months a year till completion of study.

The students avail monthly stipend of HUF 140,000 EUR 380 for 1st phase and HUF 180,000 EUR 490 for 2nd phase for 12 months a year till completion of study. The students will enjoy free dormitory place or contribution of HUF 40,000 to accommodation costs for the duration of scholarship period. The stipend of HUF 200,000 EUR 550 per academic year is also provided. The students will get the medical insurance to health care services and supplementary medical insurance for HUF 65,000 EUR 180 per year per person.

The government announces the SCYP scholarship during the month of November each year giving sufficient time to the students to get prepared their documents along with their recommendation letter from the local. The students will note the target date of 31 January for the submission of admission forms.  The list of the shortlisted candidates are announced during March. The host universities check the application forms of the candidates and the universities make the final selection of the students by May end. The academic season is started from September and the students reach there to get education in their classes.
