Higher Education Commission HEC has officially unveiled the registration details for the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test USAT 2023. Conducted by HECs Education Testing Council

The Higher Education Commission, under the umbrella of the Education Testing Council ETC, will oversee the administration of the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test USAT. This test is designed to facilitate admissions at the undergraduate level in universities across Pakistan. Notably, USAT mirrors the format of the Scholastic Aptitude Test SAT and covers a wide array of disciplines, including Engineering, Medicine, IT, Management, and Social Sciences for undergraduate entry.

Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply for the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test USAT 2023?
Students who have successfully completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC or equivalent Grade 12 education.
Students who have appeared in the final examination and are awaiting results.
Students possessing 12 years of education or equivalent in any discipline.

USAT Test Structure and Scoring

The USAT comprises two parts:

Part 1

Number of test items: 75 Multiple Choice Questions MCQs
Time allowed: 100 minutes
Verbal reasoning: 35 questions
Quantitative reasoning: 40 questions

Part 2

Time allowed: 40 minutes
Essay writing skills 400-500 words in either English or Urdu: 25 marks
A score of 50 or higher is considered a qualifying USAT score, with a perfect score being 100.

Test Availability and Application Process

Initially, the USAT is planned to be conducted quarterly in major cities across Pakistan, with the possibility of additional tests if the need arises. The annual test calendar will be made available on the ETC website, and candidates can register through the online registration portal. Universities will continue to announce their admission programs independently. Students can apply to universities and submit their USAT ETC scorecards to be considered in the merit-determining formula.

Its important to note that only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for the USAT, and applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.

Test Fee Details
The test fee for the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test USAT is PKR 1,750 per candidate.
