HEC Gives 2500 Laptops to AIOU Under PM Laptop Scheme

Islamabad, Higher Education Commission Islamabad gave the laptops to the 2500 students, who got higher positions in PhD, MPhil and MS level exams of the Allama Iqbal Open University under the youth laptop scheme of PM in the third phase and the laptops are awarded to the students under the set merit criteria.
The students for the laptop scheme were selected on the country wide basis. The laptop distribution ceremony was conducted on second consecutive day at main campuses of university, in which 197 students were selected from the Rawalpindi region. In the first stage, there were 250 aspirants, who received laptops under the laptop scheme of the prime minister. The special cash awards are also given to the students of the higher education for carrying out the compatible quality research work and it produced the worthy projects to assist the society to the to the socio economic issues.
There are many leading personalities including the dean of Islamic studies department, Dr Mohi Uddin Hashmi, Dean of sciences, Dr Naghmana Rashid, Dean of Education Department, Dr Nasir Mahmood, Dean of Social Sciences department, Dr Samina Awan, director Rawalpindi region Dr Malik Touqeer Ahmed and director of the advisory services of students, Rana Tariq Javed were also present in the ceremony.
