HEC FATA Baluchistan Students Scholarships 2018

Islamabad, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is responsible for spreading the higher education to the intelligent and most capable students of all regions and universities of Pakistan . Now HEC has planned to provide 700 scholarships to the students of FATA and Baluchistan. The commission has planned to give the scholarships to the registered students of the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the government sector educational institutes.
Under the project, higher education commission allocated 3900 scholarships to postgraduate and undergraduate students. Out of total 3900 scholarships, 700 scholarships were awarded to the students last year.
HEC has allocated Rs.274 million for the provision of scholarships to the students. These scholarships are added with national and international scholarships. The chairman of the HEC said that there is big space among the demand and actual number of the PhD scholars in Pakistan. The HEC is using all its sources for the allotment of the large number of scholarships in the country especially in FATA and Baluchistan. It also started the Pak-USAID merit and need based scholarships at the cost of approx Rs.2954.8 million. HEC also started the phase II overseas scholarships for MS, MPhil leading to PhD and it gave Rs.330 million.
The senior representative of HEC said that country is facing the severe shortage of PhD scholars and the HEC is taking the initiatives to produce more and more PhD scholarship to meet the shortage of the scholars within the country. About 5000 PhD fellowships will be provided this year and Rs.175 million has been allocated for this purpose.
