Federal Education Minister, Shafqat Mahmood announced this new in a joint press conference with the federal cabinet in presence of Prime Minister of Pakistan. The government gives the priority to the health and safety of the teachers and students and they do not take such decision, which can endanger their precious lives.
During the meeting, it has been decided that the annual exams for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes are cancelled for the year 2019-20 and the students will be promoted to the next classes on the basis of their average marking system keeping in view their past performances. The government has also announced that the educational institutes will remain close till 15 July, till the improvement in the Coronavirus outbreak across the country. The government took the decision to open the schools from 01 June. Which is now upheld and new decision is made to keep the schools and colleges closed by the mid of July. The government has made this decision by the mutual consultation with the provincial education ministers during the video conferencing.
