GCU Lahore Introduces Innovative Free Education Program

Government College University Lahore has recently launched a groundbreaking free education program aimed at individuals with a genuine passion for learning. Pilot Project in the Institute of History
GCUs Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, unveiled the Free Education for All as a pilot project to commence during the upcoming Fall semester of 2023. The program will initially be offered in the Institute of History and will later expand to other departments in subsequent phases.
A Learning Opportunity with Flexibility
The program offers participants the unique opportunity to attend classes and select courses from a diverse range of degree programs, tailoring their educational journey according to their interests. The focus lies on learning itself, promoting intellectual growth without the pressure of grades and formal assessments.

To enroll in the program, individuals are required to undergo a police verification process, obtain a university card worth Rs. 200, and gain approval from the Chairperson and the instructor of their desired program or course. Initially launched in three departments within the Institute of Global and Historical Studies, the programs expansion is scheduled to begin in the Spring semester of 2024.
