Reviewing Answer Books: Guidelines and Process
Reassessment of a candidates answer book is strictly prohibited.
Recounting, unlike reassessment, entails certain aspects to be overseen by the chairman or a designated recounting committee. This involves:
Confirming the accuracy of the grand total on the title page of the answer book.
Verifying the correctness of totals at the end of each question.
Ensuring accurate transfer of all subtotals to the title page.
Checking for any unanswered portions in the answer book.
Matching the total marks in the answer book with the marks sheet.
Validating the candidates handwriting consistency throughout the question/answer book.
Confirming that the answer book or its sections havent been altered or detached.
If, based on the above, marks need to be reduced, the record will be updated accordingly, and a revised Marks Sheet will be issued.
Timeline and Application Process
The recounting process is initiated within 20 days of result declaration through a request sent to the Controller of Examinations Secrecy.
An additional 10-day extension is possible with the Chairmans approval, upon request.
Applicants can track the status of their recounting application on the FBISE website.
If a student wishes to confirm the identity of their answer script without contesting the examiners assessment, an email can be sent to the official website.
Issuance of Documents
Revised documents will be provided within 20 working days after fee verification and the submission of a complete application form.
