Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC has introduced a transformative change in the administration of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT. To eliminate longstanding inconsistencies across provincial tests, PMDC has announced the development of a centralized question bank that will be used nationwide. This initiative is expected to bring much-needed standardization and reliability to the admission process. The students can check the fresh updates of PMDC Overhauls MDCAT with Unified Question Bank for Equal Assessment.

Extensive Question Pool Under Construction

As revealed by PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj during a media briefing, the council is actively working on assembling a collection of 2,000 thoroughly validated questions. These questions are being created with input from educational experts to ensure quality and relevance. The step comes in response to complaints that students in different provinces were facing exams of unequal difficulty levels.

Unified Question Bank to Ensure Uniformity

Dr. Taj stated that the core objective of this initiative is to provide a consistent and fair evaluation process for all aspiring medical students across Pakistan. Under this model, all provinces will be required to utilize questions solely from the central database, thereby eliminating the need for individually prepared exam sets and enhancing credibility.

October Confirmed for MDCAT 2025

The MDCAT for the upcoming academic session will be held in October, as confirmed by PMDC. The timing is strategically chosen to follow the Intermediate Part II results, giving students ample preparation time. This alignment with the academic cycle is aimed at reducing stress and improving performance outcomes.

Towards a Transparent and Equitable Future

This new direction by the PMDC signifies a major improvement in the national testing structure for medical and dental college admissions. By replacing province-specific tests with a centrally managed system, the council aims to foster transparency, fairness, and a more standardized approach to candidate evaluation across the country.
