Empowering Punjabs Students: Bike Program 2024

The Punjab Government has rolled out an empowering initiative to provide students with bikes through a convenient installment plan. Kicking off with the first phase, a total of 20,000 bikes will be disbursed, comprising 19,000 fuel-based bikes and 1,000 e-bikes. Addressing the need for environmental consciousness, Chief Minister highlighted the significance of electric bikes. Despite concerns like limited mileage and battery theft, the government has opted to offer both fuel-powered and electric bikes. Financial Accessibility:

In a bid to alleviate financial strain on students, the down payment has been slashed to Rs.20,000, with monthly installments falling below Rs.5,000. The distribution of bikes is slated to kick off in May 2024.

Recognition for Excellence:

A special program is in the pipeline to reward outstanding students with bikes. For fuel-based bikes, the monthly installment will be less than Rs.5,000, while for e-bikes, it will be less than Rs.10,000. In rural areas, 70% of the quota is reserved for male students, leaving 30% for their female counterparts.
