Educational Reforms for Next Academic Year in Sindh

Sindh Education Department has introduced new recommendations for the start of the academic year 2024-2025 in schools and colleges. Following recent approvals, classes in these educational institutions will commence on August 1, 2024, as opposed to the previously scheduled date of April 1, 2024. Vacation Schedule

For the academic session 2024-25, summer vacation in institutions will be observed from June 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024. Furthermore, winter vacations are slated from December 21, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

Assessment and Promotion Criteria

According to the latest notification, students in grades I to III will be promoted without the necessity of summative assessments. However, formative assessments will be conducted in schools, and the progress of students will be communicated to parents.

Exams and Result Timetable

Exams for grades IV to VIII are scheduled from April 15 to April 27, 2024.
Exams for grades IX and X will take place in the first week of May 2024.
Exams for grades XI and XII are planned for the last week of May 2024.

The District Centre for Academic Research DCAR will lend assistance in the assessment process and prepare model papers for all categories. Grade X results will be announced by July 31, 2024, while Grade XII results will follow by August 31, 2024. Grade IX and XI results will be declared 50 days after the announcement of grades X and XII results, respectively.

Sports Week

The Sports Week is set to commence in the first week of December 2024.

Examination Structure

Exams will consist of:

20% Multiple Choice Questions MCQs
40% Constructed Response Questions CRQs
40% Extended Response Questions ERQs.

Teacher Training
A 15-day teacher training session will be organized by the allied wings of the School Education & Literacy Department to ensure the readiness of educators for the upcoming academic year.
