Islamabad, The conference of the Inter-Provincial Education Minister was conducted and it was decided in this conference to keep the educational institutes open during the second wave of coronavirus. Educational Institutes Open During 2nd Wave of Coronavirus.
Federal Education Minister chaired this meeting and the Inter Provincial Education Ministers conference was conducted and the education ministers of all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan attended this conference through video link. The agenda of the conference was comprised of three points and they were COVID situation, winter season vacations and starting of new academic year from August instead of April. It was decided during the conference of the Inter Provincial education minister to keep the schools and colleges open. The participants decided that there is no need to close the schools and colleges and the educational institutes should follow COVID SOPs during the school hours in order to keep them safe but they could not reach on the final decision to shift the academic year from August instead of April. They also decided to keep their discussion on different topics including reducing the winter vacations than usual, manage next session during first week of December and shifting new academic year.
