Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with UNESCO Pakistan, has launched an innovative program to introduce digital classrooms in Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan GB. This initiative is aimed at expanding educational access for young girls in underserved regions, helping to close the digital learning gap. The students can get latest updates of Smart Classrooms Initiative Launched to Advance Girls’ Education in AJK and GB.

Project Overview and Goals

Federal Education Secretary Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, along with senior officials and UNESCO representatives, recently held a meeting to discuss this significant project. They announced that 80 girls’ government schools will soon be equipped with advanced IT resources. Secretary Wani highlighted the program’s commitment to bridging educational inequalities, bringing digital tools to girls in primary grades across eight districts in AJK and GB.

Interactive Learning Tools and Digital Content

The smart classrooms will be outfitted with interactive technology, multimedia content, and adaptive learning systems that make education more engaging and personalized. These tools aim to enhance students’ critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. Secretary Wani emphasized that the inclusion of digital classrooms will create an environment that motivates students to engage deeply with their lessons.

Teacher Training for Technology Integration

To ensure the effective use of these new resources, the initiative includes a dedicated training program for teachers in these regions. This training focuses on equipping educators with skills to utilize AI-powered tools, enhancing their teaching techniques and making learning more impactful. Secretary Wani noted the importance of empowering local teachers with digital skills, ensuring a sustainable, technology-driven learning environment for young girls.

Commitment to Inclusive Education for All

Secretary Wani described the initiative as a powerful step toward inclusive education, ensuring that young girls in remote areas have the same learning opportunities as others. With new resources and trained teachers, girls in AJK and GB will gain access to quality digital education. He added that this collaborative effort with UNESCO underscores a shared commitment to fostering equitable, innovative learning environments and preparing students with skills for a tech-driven future
