Merit-Based Scholarships for Enrolled Students

Merit-based scholarships 2025 are also available for students who maintain an excellent academic record during their studies at LUMS. The selection is based on a students Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA and their inclusion in the Dean’s Honor List. The number of scholarships awarded varies by school, program, and academic year. Students must apply for these scholarships annually to continue receiving financial aid.

Need-Based Scholarships at LUMS

LUMS Financial Aid

The LUMS Financial Aid program is designed to assist students who lack the financial resources to afford higher education. Applications for financial aid must be submitted through the LUMS online portal. The university conducts an annual assessment of students financial status, academic performance, and adherence to university policies to determine continued eligibility for aid.

This financial assistance does not need to be repaid. However, students who receive the LUMS Interest-Free Loan must begin repayment six months after graduation, with a maximum repayment period of five years.

The LUMS Financial Aid application for Fall 2025 admissions has been open since February 10, 2025. Applicants have one month to complete their application and submit the necessary documents.

Salary slips for the last three months for employed guardians.

Pension book, retirement order, or final settlement letter for retired guardians.

Financial statements or income affidavits for self-employed or business owners.

Latest income tax returns and wealth statements for all earning family members and businesses.

Bank statements for the last 12 months for all family and business accounts.

Asset Verification

Property ownership/inheritance documents.

Rental lease agreement if any property is rented for income.

Insurance documents if applicable.

Bonds, shares, savings certificates, or CDC statements.

Vehicle registration documents or allotment letters if provided by an employer.

Sale deed for any asset sold in the last five years.

Legal documents court orders or FIRs for any disputed asset.

Expenses and Liabilities

Latest fee receipt and fee concession documents for the applicant or any family member.

Utility bills electricity, gas, water, telephone for the last three months.

Medical bills and records if any family member has a serious illness.

National Outreach Program NOP Scholarship

The National Outreach Program NOP is a flagship scholarship initiative at LUMS, aimed at students who have at least 80% marks in Matric or equivalent O-levels and demonstrate financial need. This program provides full financial support to selected students from across Pakistan.

Shahid Hussain Foundation SHF Scholarship for International Students

The Shahid Hussain Foundation SHF Scholarship is exclusively for international students from SAARC countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan, Bhutan, and India.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be a citizen of a SAARC country except Pakistan.

Dual nationals with one Pakistani nationality are not eligible.

The candidate must meet LUMS academic requirements.

Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program ADB-JSP

LUMS also offers the ADB-JSP Scholarship, which is available for both Pakistani and international students.
