Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjabs School Education Minister, has exposed disturbing details surrounding the ongoing Matric Class-9 Annual Exams 2024 in Lahore. Pre-arrangements were made for the sale and purchase of the mathematics paper, with private school entities acquiring examination centers to manipulate marks for their students. The price for obtaining exam papers ranged from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 7,000, with invigilators openly advertising fees on social media.
Concerns and Investigations:
Hayat expressed concern over individuals overseeing the exam process who havent even passed 9th or 10th-grade exams. The commissioner of Lahore, acting as the Lahore Board chairman, has initiated investigations into the assignment of examination-related duties. Disciplinary measures have been declared against personnel for their negligence.

The Punjab Teachers Union PTU has urged the government to replace officials at the Lahore Boards Conduct Branch. The PTU alleges that the Conduct Branch misrepresented a shortage of government teachers and assigned private individuals as supervisors at exam centers. They emphasize the necessity of action against those involved in such malpractice.
