Benazir Wazaif Program Expands to Higher Secondary

The Benazir Taleemi Wazaif initiative has been expanded to support students at the higher secondary level. Now, students from grades 6 to 12 will be eligible to receive a quarterly stipend as part of this program. The Benazir Income Support Program BISP Board has officially approved the inclusion of first-year and second-year intermediate students in the Wasila Education Program, offering more educational support across various levels. Quarterly Stipend Details for Students
Under the updated Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Scholarship program, students in primary, secondary, and higher secondary education will receive the following quarterly stipends:
For Girls:
Primary: PKR 2500
Secondary/Matric: PKR 3500
Higher Secondary/Intermediate: PKR 4500
For Boys:
Primary: PKR 2000
Secondary/Matric: PKR 3000
Higher Secondary/Intermediate: PKR 4000
Additionally, matric students will be entitled to a quarterly stipend of PKR 3000, and a graduation stipend of PKR 3000 will be given after completing primary education.
Eligibility for the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program
To be eligible for the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif program, students must be part of families that are beneficiaries of the BISP Kafalat program. The specific eligibility criteria for each education level are as follows:
Primary Education: Children between 4 and 12 years of age
Secondary Education: Children between 8 and 18 years of age
Higher Secondary Education: Children between 13 and 22 years of age
How to Enroll in the Program
Students wishing to apply for the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif program must be enrolled in a school or college within Pakistan. To complete the enrollment, the following documents are required:
CNIC of the primary beneficiary
B-form/CRC issued by NADRA
School/College admission slip, with class and institution details, verified by a teacher
It is mandatory for the B-form/CRC to be verified through the NADRA database as part of the enrollment process.
Enrollment Statistics and Funding Distribution
Since the launch of the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif program, a total of 12.01 million children have been enrolled. Here is the breakdown of enrollment by education level:
Primary Education: 9,306,324 children 4,853,113 boys and 4,453,211 girls
Secondary Education: 2,406,859 children 1,323,955 boys and 1,082,904 girls
Higher Secondary Education: 297,661 children 156,851 boys and 140,810 girls
Total Enrollment: 12,010,844 children
To date, BISP has disbursed a total of PKR 63.34 billion under this educational stipend program.
