Admission Open for Pakistan Marine Academy 2024
he Pakistan Marine Academy PMAT the premier institution for maritime training in Pakistan, has officially announced admissions for the 63rd Batch of Nautical Deck and Marine Engineering Cadets for the 2025-2026 session. Aspiring young men eager to join the Merchant Navy and explore the world have a golden opportunity to enroll in this esteemed program.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for admission, candidates must be unmarried male citizens of Pakistan. The maximum age limit is 20 years as of December 31, 2024, with an age relaxation of one year for candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan, making the age limit 21 years for these regions.
Academic Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing at least 55% marks. Those appearing for F.Sc/A-Level Part-III exams with at least 60% marks in Part-I can also apply, provided they submit a Hope Certificate from their respective institution. However, if they fail to achieve the required 55% marks in F.Sc, they will be disqualified at any stage of the selection process or discharged during training.
Registration Process:
Prospective candidates can download the prospectus and application form from the PMA website, www.marineacademy.edu.pk, or obtain it from the PMA Admission Office. Completed application forms must be submitted through courier services, along with a pay order or bank draft of Rs. 3,500 in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, at National Bank of Pakistan NBP, PMA Branch Code-0239. Candidates applying under the Self-Finance Scheme SFS must submit an additional pay order or bank draft of Rs. 300,000 with their application form. The SFS fee will be refunded if the candidate is selected on open merit or does not meet PMAs eligibility criteria.
Selection Procedure:
The selection process includes an entrance test, medical examination, physical efficiency test PET, and final interview. The entrance test, requiring a minimum of 50% marks to qualify, will be conducted at various centers including Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad AJK, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur through hired testing agencies. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical examination at designated Army/Navy hospitals. Final selection will be based on merit, which considers F.Sc marks, entry test performance, medical examination results, PET, and interview.

Running: One Mile 1.6 km in 08 minutes
Push-ups: 15 repetitions in 02 minutes
Sit-ups: 15 repetitions in 02 minutes
Chin-ups: 02 repetitions in 02 minutes
Education, Training, and Certification
Successful candidates will undergo two years of residential training at PMA. Upon completion, they will be awarded an Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. They will also receive certificates for International Maritime Organization IMO recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.
Scholarships:
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs sponsors 33 need-based scholarships distributed as follows:
Balochistan: 15 scholarships
KPK: 6 scholarships
Punjab: 6 scholarships
Sindh: 6 scholarships
Ineligibility Criteria:
Candidates will be ineligible if they:
Submit tampered academic certificates/documents
Conceal information or submit incomplete/false information
Are withdrawn from any academy/training institution on disciplinary grounds or poor academic performance
Are dismissed, removed, debarred, or resigned from Government Service
Are convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude
Are declared medically unfit, including being color blind
