Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program:


    Be a citizen of an ADB borrowing member country and eligible for the Japanese ODA scholarship.
    Must not possess dual citizenship.
    Have already gained admission to a masters program at one of the designated institutions.
    Hold a bachelors degree or equivalent with an outstanding academic record.
    Have a minimum of two years of full-time work experience after earning their degree.
    Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English.
    Be under the age of 35 at the time of application, with possible exceptions granted with Japan’s consent.
    Be in good physical health.
    Commit to returning to their home country after completing the program and working there for at least two years.
    Should not be employed by ADB, nor be consultants or close relatives of ADB staff.
    Reside in their home country at the time of application and not be currently enrolled in another graduate program.

    Application Process for ADB-JSP

    To apply for the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program, follow these steps:

    Request Application Materials: Contact the partner institution where you wish to study and request the necessary forms and detailed information about the scholarship.

    Prepare and Complete Documentation: Carefully complete the required forms, including the ADB-JSP information sheet, ensuring that all sections are filled out correctly.
