10 Pak Universities in THE Asia Rankings 2017

Times Higher Education announced the rankings of the universities of Asia for year 2018 and ten Pakistani universities are present in the top 350 universities due to their performance overall. When the names of the Pakistan universities were announced, Quaid-e-Azam University remained at the top Pakistani university because this university has the rank of 79, which shows the improvement in the rank from 121-130 band. COMSATS is the second university, which is now present at 125th position and its previous ranking, was in 141-150 band in the previous year. These universities have improved their ratings due to their citation impact and they also have the international teaching standard, research and outlook.
Times have enhanced the number of universities from 300 to 350 this year and it has helped three other universities to come to the rankings. The University of Peshawar, PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and University of Veterinary and Animals Sciences Lahore and now the number of Pakistani universities in these rankings reached to 10 up from 7 last year.

THE Editorial Director said that the Pakistani educational institutes have improved their education standard and their efforts for the improvement in the education are praise worthy. They have done the fantastic achievements and now Pakistan has 10 universities in Asia rankings and the two universities have improved their position on the table. Due to lack of funding, the research environment in the country remained poor and it prevented the nation to fulfill the higher education potential.
